Christmas is a time of plenty. Food, gifts, shopping, activities, lights – you name it. This points to the ideal of satisfaction. We’ll look at King Herod. What a notoriously powerful and egotistical ruler. Herod had everything a person thinks they could want. He had power, wealth, prestige, pleasures. He thinks he had it all. Yet, when the baby Jesus came, Herod panicked. Why? He had bought into the lie of what brought satisfaction.
